Pop a few berries in your mouth and it will feel like a cool breeze for your body!  Blueberries and berries in general are high in beta-carotene which benefits and protects the liver. They have a cooling, heat-pacifying nature, so they are perfect for these warmer, summer days!  Berries of all kinds support blood vessels and reduce levels of inflammation in the body. Studies have shown that consuming berries can decrease the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and improve your longevity.

Berries can also calm your thoughts, encouraging a more passive mindset by nourishing the brain.  These dark colored fruits are rich in flavonoids which support healthy eyes!  Flavonoids are plant compounds that have powerful antioxidant effects. Berries have also been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect on your nerves, which can minimize age-related memory loss.  So, be sure to load up your summer snacks with lots of these beautiful, colorful fruits!
